Does Renuvion help loose skin after liposuction?
answered by Dr. Vaibhav Desai, MD, Jonesboro.

Renuvion can help loose skin after liposuction by applying helium-plasma energy under the skin so the tissue contracts as it heals, and it is usually done in the same session as the liposuction.

It is offered on its own, with awake liposuction, or alongside MyEllevate, at our clinic in Jonesboro, Arkansas. It is not a tummy tuck, and nobody can honestly promise you a degree of tightening. The treatment is described on the Renuvion page.

Here’s exactly what happens at a first visit — and you can come and see the place before you book anything.

The reason it comes up

Removing fat does not tighten skin.

Liposuction takes volume out. The skin above then has to cope with the new shape, and whether it does depends on how much elasticity it still has. Where elasticity is good, it often retracts enough that nobody thinks about it. Where it is not, removing volume can make laxity more obvious. Does liposuction tighten skin?.

The treatment

Helium plasma, applied beneath the skin.

Renuvion applies helium-plasma energy underneath the skin through small entry points, rather than treating it from the surface. It works on the layer between skin and muscle, which is what loosens with age and after fat is removed.

It does not remove fat. Liposuction takes the volume out; Renuvion addresses the envelope that is left behind.

Same session

Both layers dealt with at once.

The most common way we do it is in the same session as awake liposuction, under the same local anesthetic. You are awake, the area is numbed, and most people describe pressure and warmth rather than pain.

Where it is combined with liposuction, the recovery is largely the liposuction recovery: swelling, bruising, soreness and fluid drainage in the first 24 to 48 hours, with a compression garment worn as instructed. Downtime for Renuvion on its own is confirmed at your consultation.

Is this you?

Loose skin, rather than a bulge.

It suits an area that is no longer heavy but still looks slack, skin that has lost tone after weight loss or pregnancy, or a liposuction plan where the skin over the area needs addressing too. It is not for you if the issue is mostly fat, or if you want a promised amount of tightening.

Plenty of people need neither Renuvion nor any other skin treatment. A provider who recommends an add-on before examining you is guessing.

Honest limits

Not a tummy tuck.

A surgical procedure that removes skin does something Renuvion does not. Renuvion helps the tissue contract as it heals, which is a different and more modest effect, and it builds over months rather than showing on the day. Individual results vary.

You can see published Renuvion cases, photographed with written consent and labelled with the time elapsed, on the Renuvion page and in the gallery.

Before you decide

What to ask any provider, including us.

Skin tightening is an area where claims outrun evidence, so the questions matter. Ask how many of these they perform in a month, whether you can see before and after photographs of people with skin like yours, how much tightening they expect in your case, and what happens if you get less. Ask who handles the follow-up. If anyone tells you how much your skin will tighten before examining it, that is a sales figure rather than a clinical one.

Morpheus8 is a different treatment: radiofrequency microneedling that works from the surface down, as a series of sessions once everything has settled. More about Morpheus8.

Arkansas

One trip, not two.

Because Renuvion is usually done in the same visit as liposuction, it adds no extra trip. Our clinic is in Jonesboro, about 30 minutes from Paragould and about 25 minutes from Trumann, so people across Northeast Arkansas do not need to travel to a city for it. More on the Renuvion page.

Cost & financing

Cost is quoted in writing at your consultation.

Cost depends on the treatment plan you and your physician settle on, so we quote it at your consultation rather than guessing here. We offer financing.

We see patients from Jonesboro, Paragould and across Northeast Arkansas, and some travel from the Missouri Bootheel.

Questions

Asked at the desk, answered here.

Medically reviewed by Dr. Vaibhav Desai, MD. If yours is not here, call (870) 230-0844 and ask — nobody will try to book you for asking a question.

Does Renuvion help loose skin after liposuction?

It can, where laxity is part of the picture. It applies helium-plasma energy under the skin so the tissue contracts as it heals. How much shows varies from person to person.

Where can I get skin tightening after lipo in Arkansas?

At our clinic in Jonesboro, Arkansas, where Renuvion is usually done in the same session as awake liposuction.

Is Renuvion a tummy tuck?

No. A procedure that removes skin does something Renuvion does not. Renuvion helps tissue contract as it heals.

Can it be done at the same time as liposuction?

Yes. That is the most common way it is done: one visit, one recovery.

When will I see the result?

Not on the day. It builds as the tissue heals, and the shape keeps changing over months.

How long is the recovery?

With liposuction, expect the liposuction recovery. Downtime for Renuvion alone is confirmed at your consultation.

Come in.
Or book ahead.

A consultation is a conversation, not a commitment. We'll tell you honestly what's realistic for you.
