A lift that dissolves on purpose.
in Jonesboro, AR.

Dissolvable threads placed under the skin to lift and support. No surgery, and nothing permanent.

PDO threads are dissolvable threads placed under the skin of the face or neck to lift and support tissue that has softened. They are absorbed by the body over time, so the effect is temporary by design. It is done under local anesthetic at Lux Lipo in Jonesboro, Arkansas, and cost is quoted at your consultation.

Here’s exactly what happens at a first visit — and you can come and see the place before you book anything.

01 — What it is

Threads that lift, then dissolve.

PDO threads are fine, dissolvable threads introduced under the skin through a needle or cannula. Some are barbed to catch tissue and lift it; others are smooth and used to support an area rather than reposition it.

The body absorbs them over months. The lift is temporary by design, which is the point for some people and the drawback for others.

02 — Is this you?

Softening, not sagging.

Probably you

This is probably you if the jawline or cheeks have softened, if you want a subtle lift, or if you want to see what a lift looks like on you before committing to anything longer-lasting.

Probably not you

This probably is not you if there is a significant amount of loose skin. Threads lift tissue; they do not remove skin, and a thread asked to do a surgical job will disappoint. For the neck and jawline specifically, MyEllevate uses a suture-suspension technique with a different, more durable intent. More about MyEllevate.

03 — What it feels like

Numbed, then pressure and tugging.

The area is numbed with local anesthetic. Most people describe pressure and an odd tugging sensation as the threads are placed rather than pain.

Afterwards the area feels tight, and that tightness settles over the following days.

04 — How it works

What happens, in order.

  1. A consultation, where your physician assesses whether threads or something else fits what you want.

  2. The plan: where the threads go and in which direction the lift is made.

  3. Local anesthetic to numb the area.

  4. The threads are placed and the tissue eased into position.

  5. Aftercare, and a review once the swelling has settled.

05 — Recovery

Tight, swollen, and best planned around.

Expect swelling, bruising, tightness and tenderness, and some puckering of the skin that settles as things relax.

There are restrictions afterwards on facial movement, sleeping position and exercise, because the threads need to stay where they were put. Your physician gives you those instructions and the timings at your appointment.

06 — Results

Visible early, temporary by design.

Some lift is visible immediately, though swelling makes the first days misleading. The honest assessment comes once things have settled.

Threads dissolve, so the effect fades and the treatment is repeated to maintain it. How long yours lasts depends on your tissue and how many threads were used. Individual results vary.

07 — Risks, plainly

What to weigh up.

Common and temporary: swelling, bruising, tightness, tenderness and skin puckering while things settle. Less common: infection, asymmetry, a thread becoming visible or palpable, a thread migrating or extruding, or dimpling that persists longer than expected.

Threads sit under the skin of the face, so who places them and how often they do it matters. Ask.

08 — Who performs it

A physician places them.

Every PDO thread lift at Lux Lipo is performed by Dr. Vaibhav Desai, MD, a physician member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.

10 — Questions

Asked at the desk, answered here.

Medically reviewed by Dr. Vaibhav Desai, MD. If yours is not here, call (870) 230-0844 and ask — nobody will try to book you for asking a question.

What are PDO threads?

Fine dissolvable threads placed under the skin to lift and support tissue. Some are barbed to catch and lift; others are smooth and support an area. The body absorbs them over months.

How long does the lift last?

It is temporary by design. The threads dissolve and the effect fades, so it is repeated to maintain. How long depends on your tissue and how many threads were used.

Is it the same as a facelift?

No. Threads lift tissue; they do not remove skin. If there is a significant amount of loose skin, threads will disappoint and we will say so.

How is this different from MyEllevate?

MyEllevate uses a suture-suspension technique aimed specifically at the neck and jawline with a more durable intent. Threads are less invasive and temporary. Your physician will explain which fits what you want.

Is there downtime?

Expect swelling, bruising and tightness, plus restrictions on facial movement, sleeping position and exercise while the threads settle. Plan it around anything you would rather not be swollen for.

Does it hurt?

The area is numbed first. Most people describe pressure and tugging rather than pain, with tightness afterwards.

What does it cost?

Cost depends on how many threads are used and where, so we quote it at your consultation rather than guessing here. Financing is available.
