Prompting your skin to rebuild itself.
in Jonesboro, AR.

Fine needles make controlled micro-channels so the skin repairs. On its own, or with PRP, PRF or exosomes.

Microneedling uses fine needles to create controlled micro-channels in the skin, prompting it to repair itself and improving texture, scarring and tone over a series of sessions. It can be done on its own or combined with PRP or PRF made from a small sample of your own blood, or with an exosome add-on. It is done at Lux Lipo in Jonesboro, Arkansas, and cost is quoted at your consultation.

Here’s exactly what happens at a first visit — and you can come and see the place before you book anything.

01 — What it is

Controlled injury, on purpose.

A handpiece passes fine needles over the skin, creating micro-channels. The skin treats them as small injuries and repairs, and the repair is the treatment: firmer texture, softer scarring, more even tone.

It works gradually and is done as a series rather than a single visit.

02 — The add-on

PRP microneedling, in plain terms.

PRP is platelet-rich plasma. A small sample of your blood is taken and spun to concentrate the platelet-rich portion, which is then applied to the skin during and after the needling.

The reasoning is straightforward: the needling has just opened thousands of channels, so material applied on top reaches deeper than it would through intact skin. Because it comes from your own blood, nothing foreign is introduced.

It is an add-on rather than a different treatment. The needling is still doing the work.

03 — The add-on

PRF is the same idea, prepared differently.

PRF is platelet-rich fibrin. It is also made from a small sample of your own blood, but processed without the additives used for PRP, which leaves a fibrin structure that releases more slowly.

PRF is used in a few places at Lux Lipo: alongside injectables, with microneedling, and in labia puffing. Which of PRP or PRF suits you is a conversation at your consultation.

04 — The add-on

Exosomes.

An exosome add-on can be applied after needling in the same way as PRP or PRF, taking advantage of the same freshly opened channels.

Whether any add-on is worth it in your case is a judgment made at your consultation rather than a default upsell.

05 — Is this you?

Texture, scarring and tone.

Probably you

This is probably you if the skin’s surface is what bothers you: enlarged pores, uneven texture, acne scarring, or a general dullness.

Probably not you

This probably is not you if the concern is firmness deeper down, where radiofrequency microneedling reaches further. More about Morpheus8.

06 — What it feels like

Numbing cream first.

Numbing cream is applied and given time to work. Most people describe a scratchy vibration rather than pain, more noticeable over bony areas like the forehead.

Afterwards the skin is flushed and warm, like mild sunburn.

07 — Recovery

Pink for a day or two.

Expect redness and warmth settling over a day or two, with the skin sometimes feeling tight or dry as it repairs.

Sun protection matters afterwards, and your physician gives you the aftercare and the interval before the next session.

08 — Results

Built across a series.

Because the result comes from your skin repairing, it appears gradually and builds across the series rather than arriving after one session.

Individual results vary, and skin that has taken years to change does not reverse in a month.

Cost & financing

Cost is quoted in writing at your consultation.

Cost depends on the treatment plan you and your physician settle on, so we quote it at your consultation rather than guessing here. We offer financing.

We see patients from Jonesboro, Paragould and across Northeast Arkansas, and some travel from the Missouri Bootheel.

09 — Risks, plainly

What to weigh up.

Common and temporary: redness, warmth, tightness, dryness and flaking while the skin repairs. Less common: prolonged redness, infection, or changes in pigment, which is more of a consideration in darker skin tones.

Tell your physician if you have active acne or a cold sore, are prone to keloid scarring, or have had pigment changes before, because those affect whether and how this is done.

10 — Who performs it

A physician oversees the treatment.

Every microneedling treatment at Lux Lipo is performed by Dr. Vaibhav Desai, MD, a physician member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.

12 — Questions

Asked at the desk, answered here.

Medically reviewed by Dr. Vaibhav Desai, MD. If yours is not here, call (870) 230-0844 and ask — nobody will try to book you for asking a question.

What is PRF?

PRF is platelet-rich fibrin, made from a small sample of your own blood and processed without the additives used for PRP. That leaves a fibrin structure which releases more slowly. It is used with microneedling, alongside injectables, and in labia puffing.

What is the difference between PRP and PRF?

Both come from your own blood. PRP is spun to concentrate the platelet-rich plasma; PRF is prepared without additives and releases more slowly. Which suits you is decided at your consultation.

Do I need an add-on at all?

No. Microneedling on its own is a complete treatment, and the needling is what does the work. Add-ons are a judgment call rather than a default.

How many sessions will I need?

It is a series rather than a single visit. The number and interval are set at your consultation, and we do not publish an average because it depends on your skin.

Does it hurt?

Numbing cream is applied first. Most people describe a scratchy vibration rather than pain, more noticeable over bony areas.

How is this different from Morpheus8?

Morpheus8 adds radiofrequency energy below the surface, so it reaches deeper and treats firmness as well as texture. Microneedling is the simpler option when the surface is the concern.

How long is the downtime?

Expect redness and warmth settling over a day or two, with some tightness or flaking. Sun protection matters afterwards.

What does it cost?

Cost depends on the area, the number of sessions and whether an add-on is used, so we quote it at your consultation. Financing is available.
