PRP Microneedling
in Jonesboro, AR.

PRP microneedling is microneedling with your own platelet-rich plasma applied to the skin right after treatment. At Lux Lipo in Jonesboro, we draw a small sample of your blood, spin it to concentrate the platelets, and apply that PRP to the fresh channels microneedling creates. The goal is to support healing and the new collagen your skin builds afterward.

Here’s exactly what happens at a first visit — and you can come and see the place before you book anything.

01 — What PRP is

Your own platelets, nothing foreign.

PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma. It comes from your own blood, so nothing foreign goes on your skin. A small sample is spun in a centrifuge, which separates the blood into layers: red blood cells at the bottom, a thin layer of white cells, and clear yellow plasma on top. The plasma just above the white cells holds a concentrated layer of platelets. That’s the PRP.

Platelets carry growth factors, the signals your body uses to repair itself. Applied right after microneedling, they reach the skin through the tiny channels the needles leave.

PRF, a close cousin prepared a little differently, is what we use for PRF hair restoration.

02 — Is this you?

Texture, lines and scarring.

Probably you

  • You want smoother texture, softer fine lines or smaller-looking pores
  • You have acne scars you’d like to soften
  • You’d like your own blood, not a product, to be part of the treatment
  • You want a short recovery you can plan around a weekend

Probably not you

If your main goal is tightening looser skin or a softer jawline. Morpheus8 reaches deeper and usually does more for that (see the comparison below).

If you have an active breakout or skin infection in the area, are pregnant, or have a blood or bleeding condition, we’ll talk at your consultation about waiting or choosing another option.

03 — What it feels like

Pressure, a light scratch, then warmth.

Your skin is numbed with a cream first. The blood draw feels like a routine blood test. During microneedling, most people feel pressure and a light scratching sensation, and PRP going on feels cool.

Afterward your skin feels warm and tight, like a mild sunburn.

04 — How it works

What happens, in order.

  1. Consultation: in person or by video with Dr. Desai or Dr. Chug. You talk through your goals and your skin, and we email you a written quote with a financing link.

  2. Numbing and blood draw: numbing cream goes on, and a small sample of blood is drawn from your arm.

  3. Spin: the tube goes into a centrifuge, which separates out the PRP.

  4. Microneedling: fine needles make tiny channels in the upper skin.

  5. PRP: the PRP is applied right away, so it can enter those channels.

  6. Home: you go home the same day with aftercare instructions.

05 — Recovery

A few days, like a mild sunburn.

Expect redness and a warm, tight feeling for a few days, a lot like a mild sunburn. Many people plan treatment before a weekend.

You’ll get aftercare instructions to follow: gentle cleanser, no harsh active skincare for a while, and sun protection once your provider says it’s okay.

06 — Results and sessions

Built gradually, over a series.

New collagen builds over the weeks after each session, so results show gradually. Most people do 3 to 6 sessions, then maintenance. Your plan, and how far apart the sessions are, is set at your consultation.

Results vary from person to person. Studies on PRP with microneedling are small, so we don’t promise a specific outcome.

Cost & financing

Cost is quoted in writing at your consultation.

Cost depends on the treatment plan you and your physician settle on, so we quote it at your consultation rather than guessing here. We offer financing.

We see patients from Jonesboro, Paragould and across Northeast Arkansas, and some travel from the Missouri Bootheel.

08 — Risks, plainly

What to weigh up.

Redness, swelling and pinpoint bleeding are expected for a short time. You may get a bruise where the blood was drawn. Less often, people get breakouts, skin irritation or, rarely, infection.

Because PRP comes from your own blood, an allergic reaction to it is unlikely. Call us at (870) 230-0844 if anything worries you after treatment.

09 — Who you'll see

A physician sets your plan.

Your plan is set at a consultation with Dr. Vaibhav Desai, MD, a physician member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, or Dr. Rohit Chug, MD.

The consultation can be in person or by video. Afterward we email you a written quote with a financing link.

10 — Questions

Asked at the desk, answered here.

Medically reviewed by Dr. Vaibhav Desai, MD. If yours is not here, call (870) 230-0844 and ask — nobody will try to book you for asking a question.

What is PRP microneedling?

It's microneedling followed by platelet-rich plasma made from your own blood. The needles make tiny channels that start your skin's repair response, and the PRP is applied right after so its growth factors can reach the skin.

Is PRP microneedling the same as a "vampire facial"?

It's similar. "Vampire Facial" is a trademarked name used by another company for a PRP treatment. At Lux Lipo, we call ours PRP microneedling.

Does PRP microneedling hurt?

Your skin is numbed first. Most people feel pressure and light scratching, and the blood draw feels like a routine blood test.

How many sessions will I need?

Most people do 3 to 6 sessions, then maintenance. Your plan is set at your consultation.

How long is the downtime?

Expect redness and tightness for a few days, like a mild sunburn. Many people plan it before a weekend.

What's the difference between PRP and PRF?

Both come from your own blood. PRF (platelet-rich fibrin) is prepared a little differently. Ask at your consultation which suits you.

How much does it cost?

It depends on your plan. We email you a written quote after your consultation, with a financing link. You can pay with Cherry, PatientFi or our in-house plan.
