Is any of this covered by insurance?
Most of it is not, because it is treated as elective. Lichen sclerosus and some menopause care can be different. Call us and we will tell you plainly which category yours falls into.
Do I have to be put to sleep?
No. The device treatments need no anesthetic at all, and the minor procedures are done under local anesthetic in an outpatient setting. You go home the same day.
Will I be examined at the consultation?
Not unless you agree to it, and not on the first visit if you would rather talk first. You can bring someone with you.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on the treatment and the symptom. The device treatments are usually a short course rather than one visit. Your physician will give you the number at your consultation.
Is it painful?
The device treatments are usually described as warmth and pressure rather than pain. The minor procedures are numbed first. Tell us at any point if you want to stop.
